Editorial Policy

This Editorial Policy explains how TechPenser builds its tools, writes its blog content, and handles mistakes. We're publishing it because we think a site that offers calculators and guides people rely on should be upfront about how that content actually gets made.

1. What This Policy Covers

This policy applies to everything on techpenser.com: the tools themselves, the copy describing them, and any blog posts or guides we publish. It doesn't cover third-party advertising content served by Google AdSense, which is selected by Google's systems rather than written by us — see our Disclaimer for more on that distinction.

2. Our Editorial Principles

• Accuracy first. Calculators use standard, verifiable formulas — not guesses or approximations dressed up as precise numbers.
• No inflated claims. We don't publish fabricated statistics, fake testimonials, or invented user counts anywhere on this site — including in our own marketing copy.
• Plain language. We'd rather explain something simply than pad it out to look more authoritative than it is.
• Say what we don't know. If a tool has a limitation, we'd rather disclose it than let you find out the hard way.

3. How We Build & Test Our Tools

Each tool is built around a well-established, publicly documented formula or method (for example, the standard BMI formula, or standard percentage-change math). Before publishing, tools are manually tested against a range of realistic inputs — including edge cases like zero values, very large numbers, or unusual formatting — to check that results are correct and that the tool fails gracefully rather than silently giving a wrong answer.

Tools are not reviewed by outside subject-matter experts (doctors, accountants, lawyers) before publishing, since they're built as general calculation aids rather than professional advice — this is also why our Disclaimer exists and is worth reading for any health- or finance-related tool.

4. How We Write Blog Content

Blog posts and guides on TechPenser are written in-house to explain how our tools work, how to use them well, or to cover topics related to our tool categories. We don't publish sponsored posts disguised as regular content, and we don't accept payment in exchange for favorable coverage of a product or service.

5. Independence From Advertising

TechPenser is supported by Google AdSense, which is how we keep every tool free with no signup. Advertising never influences which tools we build, how we describe them, or what we write in blog content. Ads are placed and selected entirely by Google's systems — we don't choose individual advertisers, and their presence isn't an endorsement (see our Disclaimer).

6. Corrections Policy

If a tool produces an incorrect result, or an article contains a factual error, we want to know. When we confirm a mistake:

• We fix it as soon as practically possible.
• For anything that materially changed a tool's output or a published claim, we don't silently edit it away — where relevant, we note that a correction was made.
• We prioritize fixes based on how many people a mistake could affect and how serious the consequence of relying on it would be.

7. Who Writes and Maintains This Site

TechPenser is built and maintained independently by a solo developer — not a newsroom or a large editorial team. That's a deliberate trade-off: it means updates and corrections can happen quickly, but it also means we're honest that there isn't a multi-person review chain behind every piece of content. 8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Editorial Policy as our processes evolve. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
